Tragedy man

Status: pre-production

Michael Reeves is blazing through Swinging London, bringing grit and cool to British
horror. With a bit of money and a lot of chutzpah, he bets everything on his biggest film yet: Witchfinder General. The catch is that his financiers force him to cast Vincent Price, who is old, theatrical and everything Reeves hates about cinema. Price, terrified he’s slipping into obscurity, won’t make it easy. It’s hate at first sight. Their war on set produces a masterpiece and the greatest performance of Price’s career. Then the darkness that has chased Reeves since childhood finally catches up with him.

Seen through Reeves’ own eyes, the film moves between horror, humour and tragedy. It tells the story of British cinema’s great “what if?”, the James Dean of horror.
